The flag material for a custom flag will determine how long it will last. Before manufacture, you must consider the type of material required. Take into account where your item will be placed, weather conditions and the durability needed. The strongest polyester usually determines the length of time the flag will last.

The flag materials will determine how the item can be used. The Flag Makers offer three types of polyester to ensure you can obtain a flag according to your budget and intended use.

100D  Polyester:

If you require a custom flag for promotional purposes or short term use, woven polyester is the most suitable material. It is the least expensive of the three flag materials and is designed for special events or once off use. The life expectancy for an item made from woven polyester is short.

If you choose this kind of polyester for your item, The Flag Makers recommend silk screening and dye sublimation printing techniques as the ink will bleed through to the other side.

200D Knitted Polyester:

If you require flag that needs to be flown or placed outdoors, knitted polyester is the most suitable flag material. It will last longer than woven polyester and is one of the strongest flag materials in the industry.

We also recommend silk screening, dye sublimation and digital printing techniques. The artwork will bleed through to the other side and become visible in a reverse pattern.

500D Spun Polyester:

If you require an item everyday use, spun polyester is the most suitable flag material. This is the most durable material available and, though slightly more expensive than woven polyester, this material is suited for daily use.

With all flag material patterns, we recommend silk screening and dye sublimation as the print will tend to bleed through on the other side and become visible. Spun polyester is not a material to be used with digital printing. If you wish to purchase an item with digital printing, knitted polyester is best.

Single or Double Sided:

Choosing whether your item is single or double sided is just as important as size, colour and flag material. When looking for a custom flag in USA, choose The Flag Makers for manufacturing expertise. With the flag company, you can have your flag printed on single or double sides. The most common item is singled sided print, as it is less expensive than detailed double sided printing.

You can choose either both single and double sided printing options to ensure you get the most personalized option. One sided printing is inexpensive, but a lower cost means the dye will bleed through the material. Depending on the type of fabric chosen, the dye will bleed through to appear on the other side, but in reverse. One sided flags are easier to manufacture as there is less flag material, printing and sewing involved. Single sided flags are not as durable and will suffer wear and tear easily.

A double sided flag means both sides of the item are manufactured of high quality. The artwork chosen is printed on two separate flags and is then sewn together. The Flag Makers company gives you the option of choosing a double sided product. Commonly, double sided flags are two ply, but we allow you to obtain 3 ply for ultimate durability. The biggest advantage of the double sided option is that it will not have the bleed through effect from the dye. A disadvantage is that the item will be heavy in comparison to the single sided flags.
